For Directorate of Education (DoE)
- Education:
- Senior Secondary with at least 50% + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./JBT)
- OR Senior Secondary with 45% + D.El.Ed. (as per NCTE 2002 norms)
- OR Senior Secondary with 50% + 4-year B.El.Ed.
- OR Senior Secondary with 50% + 2-year Diploma in Special Education
- OR Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Other Requirements:
- Pass in CTET (Paper-I) conducted by CBSE
- Must have studied Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi/English at Secondary level
For NDMC
- Education:
- 12th pass with 50% (45% for SC/ST)
- Two-year Diploma in Primary Education / JBT / DIET / B.El.Ed.
- Must have studied Hindi at 10th level
- CTET (Paper-I) qualification required
- Desirable: Computer Knowledge
