Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age Relaxation:

• 5 Years Relaxation:
  • Male candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, More Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections of Rajasthan.
  • Women candidates from General Category.
• 10 Years Relaxation: Women candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, More Backward Classes, and Economically Weaker Sections of Rajasthan.
• No Upper Age Limit: Widows and divorced/deserted women.
• Ex-Prisoners: Relaxation equivalent to the imprisonment period for eligible ex-prisoners.
• Cadet Instructors: Relaxation equivalent to service in NCC, provided the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age limit by more than 3 years.
• State, Panchayat Samiti & Zila Parishad Employees: Maximum age limit of 40 years for those serving in connection with State affairs, Panchayat Samities, and Zila Parishads in a substantive capacity.
• Ex-Servicemen: 15 years relaxation in upper age limit as per Rajasthan Civil Services (Absorption of Ex-servicemen) Rules, 1988, with a maximum upper age limit of 50 years (55 years where experience of a lower post is essential).
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit as per Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2018.

Note: The age relaxation provisions are non-cumulative, meaning only one provision’s maximum age limit benefit will be applied.

Educational Qualifications

• For Hindi, English, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Gujarati Subjects: Graduate or equivalent examination recognized by UGC with the concerned subject as an Optional Subject, and a Degree or Diploma in Education recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education/Government.
• For Science Subject: Graduate or equivalent examination recognized by UGC with at least two of the following subjects as Optional Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Micro-Biology, Bio-Technology, and Bio-Chemistry, and a Degree or Diploma in Education recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education/Government.
• For Social Science Subject: Graduate or equivalent examination recognized by UGC with at least two of the following subjects as Optional Subjects: History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Public Administration, and Philosop¹hy, and a Degree or Diploma in Education recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education/Government.
• General Requirement: Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagari Script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

Important: Candidates appearing in the final year of the required educational qualification are also eligible to apply, but they must provide proof of acquiring the qualification before the competitive examination conducted by the Commission.

Application Process

1. Read Instructions Carefully: Before applying, candidates must thoroughly read the instructions, detailed advertisement, and relevant service rules available on the RPSC website.
2. One Time Registration (OTR):
   • Visit the RPSC website or the SSO portal.
   • Select ‘Recruitment Portal’ under Citizen Apps (G2C).
   • For first-time OTR, candidates must enter their name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, secondary/equivalent examination details, and Aadhar card details, and upload documents.
   • Existing OTR users can apply using their OTR number.
   • Crucial: No amendments will be possible in OTR profile details (name, father’s name, date of birth, gender, secondary/equivalent exam details, and Aadhar card details) once registered. Ensure these match your educational documents and Aadhar/SSO profile. Update your Aadhar card photo if it’s older than three years.
3. Live Photo Upload: Candidates must upload a live photo during the online application process. Preview the photo for clarity before submitting.
4. Signature and Left Thumb Impression: Scan and upload your signature and left thumb impression.
5. Application Number: Ensure you receive an application number after submission. A preview of the application is not considered a submission.
6. Correction Facility:
   • Modifications (excluding name, father’s name, date of birth, and gender from OTR profile) are allowed within the application period and for 10 days after the last date, by paying a fee of ₹500/-.
   • An online edit option will be available for 7 days, 60 days prior to the first declared examination date, for changes other than photo, name, father’s name, date of birth, and gender.
   • Any accepted modification will be confirmed via SMS and OTP.

One Time Registration (OTR) Fee

As per the Department of Personnel (K-2) circular dated April 19, 2023, the one-time registration fee for all recruitment examinations is as follows:

• General (Unreserved) / Backward Class (Creamy Layer) / More Backward Class (Creamy Layer) candidates: ₹600/-
• Reserved Categories (SC/ST/Backward Class – Non-Creamy Layer / More Backward Class – Non-Creamy Layer / EWS / Sahariya Primitive Tribe): ₹400/-
• Persons with Disabilities (PwBD): ₹400/-

Note: Applicants from states other than Rajasthan belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS categories will be considered General category candidates and must pay the General category registration fee.

Examination Scheme and Syllabus

The competitive examination for Senior Teacher will carry 500 marks and consist of two papers:

Paper-I

• Maximum Marks: 200
• Duration: 2 hours
• Questions: 100 multiple-choice questions
• Subjects:
  • Geographical, Historical, Cultural, and General Knowledge of Rajasthan
  • Current Affairs of Rajasthan
  • General Knowledge of World and India
  • Educational Psychology
• Negative Marking: One-third (1/3) of the marks prescribed for each question will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40%. A relaxation of 5% will be provided for SC and ST candidates.

Paper-II

• Maximum Marks: 300
• Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
• Questions: 150 multiple-choice questions
• Subjects:
  • Knowledge of secondary and senior secondary standard about relevant subject matter.
  • Knowledge of graduation standard about relevant subject matter.
  • Teaching methods of the relevant subject.
• Negative Marking: One-third (1/3) of the marks prescribed for each question will be deducted for a wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40%. A relaxation of 5% will be provided for SC and ST candidates.

OMR Answer Sheet Instructions

• Each question has five options (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). Darken only one circle for the correct answer using a BLUE BALL POINT PEN.
• It is mandatory to fill one option for each question.
• If you are not attempting a question, you must darken circle ‘5’. If none of the five circles is darkened, one-third (1/3) of the marks for that question will be deducted.
• An extra 10 minutes will be provided beyond the scheduled time to ensure all circles are darkened.
• Candidates who do not darken any of the five circles in more than 10% of the questions will be disqualified.
